A swarm of bees really liked this road sign

An enormous colony of bees took over a road sign near a school in Briton Ferry .

The bees found their new home on Farm Road and it is understood that they arrived on Wednesday.

It's understood that they had been there for a number of days (Amie Mohammed)

The image was taken by Amie Mohammed who was taking her 6-year-old daughter and her friend to school at the time.

She said: "I pass there every day, I was taking my daughter and her friend to school and I was a bit taken back because it's not what you expect to see right by a bus stop. My daughter and her friend wasn't bothered much by it.

"Ysgol Carreg Hir is just opposite so there's lots of kids about."

The 33-year-old said on Friday that the bees had been taken away.

"Luckily there was no harm and they were removed properly. Yesterday [Thursday] there was still hundreds flying about but today with the rain it seems okay," she added.

Many people have also been commenting on the picture.

One person said: "It was mental when I saw them, they were like that but on the wall. The guy in the shop said that a guy had been out to sort them but when I went over they were in their hundreds again."

While another person added: "It's just a swarm looking to build a new hive they are quite calm and a bee would never sting without being provoked anyway."
