While the country can't stop discussing Alia Bhatt's big diamond wedding ring, another expensive item that deserves a special mention here is a gift that the newly weds received on their wedding!
Alia Bhatt and Rabir Kapoor bcecame man and wife on Thursday in a beautiful intimate wedding ceremony held at their abode, Vastu, an apartment in Pali Hill, Mumbai. And while they received plenty of good wishes and gifts, a special wedding gift came all the way from Surat in the form of a gold bouquet.
A day before their wedding, a Surat-based jeweller on Wednesday sent a gold-plated bouquet to the couple.
A video of two men arriving at Vastu with the gift, has been doing the rounds on the internet. When asked about the gift, the men in question claimed that it was a gold bouquet coated with real gold foil.
Ranbir and Alia’s pre-wedding festivities kicked off at Ranbir’s Vastu residence in Bandra on Wednesday morning. A star-studded mehndi function was organised after a pooja in memory of Ranbir’s late father Rishi Kapoor.
The wedding took place on Thursday afternoon and was culminated at the balcony of Alia and Ranbir's house. It only had their close friends and family in attendance. The duo looked their splendid best on the D-Day, with both opting for Sabyasachi creations. For the wedding ceremony Alia Bhatt wore a hand dyed ivory organza sari embroidered with fine tilla work and an embroidered handwoven tissue veil. Paired with Sabyasachi Heritage Jewellery featuring uncut diamonds and hand strung pearls. While Ranbir Kapoor wore an embroidered silk sherwani with Sabyasachi uncut diamond buttons, a silk organza safa and shawl with zari marori embroidery. The kilangi by Sabyasachi Heritage Jewellery featured uncut diamonds, emeralds and pearls and a multistring pearl necklace.
