A Supermarket Sweep pop-up is opening at the Shoreditch London Cocktail Club

East London is home to many eccentric things but one bar is going a step further by transforming into a cult 90s game show this weekend.

Shoreditch's London Cocktail Club will undergo a grocery-fuelled makeover in tribute to the popular show Supermarket Sweep from December 1 until February 23 of next year.

Teams will be treated to a nostalgic 90s-style jumper on arrival and will be asked to pick a drink from Kitchen Cocktails — a book written by the bar group's founder and chief mixologist, JJ Goodman. Then they'll head into the venue's ground floor, which has been decorated with supermarket aisles packed full of everyday shopping items, from Coco Pops to Angel Delight.

Players will have to race against the clock to collect the ingredients and inflatables needed for their chosen beverage. Bonus prizes can be collected by spinning a Cocktail Wheel of Fortune and finding the corresponding novelty items.

Once they've "checked out", bartenders will be on-hand to guide guests through the cocktail-making process and will leave them with the finished product to enjoy.

The “Supermarket Sweep” sessions will run for one hour with three cocktails included in the price of a £30 ticket.

December 1-February 23 2019, LCC, 12-29 Sclater St, E1 6HR, londoncocktailclub.co.uk
