A stranger gave a happy child a Christmas card in Denny's and their mum could not believe what was inside

When Chelsie Leigh and her young family visited Denny's for a Christmas Eve tradition, they were left speechless by the kindness of a stranger.

Having spoken to one of her sons, a stranger gifted him a card and wished them "a wonderful Christmas", before they went in to enjoy their breakfast.

Upon opening the card, the family discovered an emotional story with a valuable lesson, and now they're appealing for help to find the stranger in the hope of repaying the kind gesture.

Commenting in a Facebook post, Chelsie said: "I have absolutely broken my heart this morning, realising how lucky we are as a family to have not only each other but our children happy too."

"Our day started as normal and we decided to take the kids to Denny’s for our Christmas Eve breakfast, just to start our ongoing tradition. Me and our oldest Harry went into Denny’s and Kate and Ollie were skipping behind, Ollie babbling and giggling as he does, as skipping is his favourite stim, a lady stopped Kate and Ollie and started chatting to Ollie, and gave Ollie this card, told him to ‘have a wonderful Christmas beautiful boy’."

Inside the card the stranger revealed their own heartbreak in the past and how they chose to spend their Christmases now.

It read: "Dear you, my eight-year-old daughter and I suffered the greatest loss in 2019 when my husband passed away, unexpectedly, at the young age of 36.

"He is always in our thoughts, but especially at Christmas. Instead of decorating his grave with flowers, we would like to gift you this money to honour his memory" it read.

The card contained £40 with "no conditions attached" but simply aimed at making the recipient's day better.

It later added "life can be cruel and unkind to us all. We can either let the darkness consume us or we can choose to spread light and love! Choose the best option, always. Happy Christmas from us"

Denny's has offered a free meal to the stranger and their daughter, should they be found.

Chelsie has also appealed to people in Swansea to help her find the stranger to say thankyou and offer something in return.

"I literally have no words, I had no chance to see this lady to thank her, I would love to be able to speak to her, her words have really touched us this morning and has made us realise how fortunate we are to wake up tomorrow morning as a family, to cherish every day we get with each other, life’s to short for little arguments as a couple and to appreciate the good and the bad in life, we are truly blessed

"Please help us find her, we would love to be able to get her daughter a gift."
