Let’s just kick this whole thing off by saying we have NO IDEA if this is real, if this is an edited clip, if it’s Monday night’s episode or if this is in the distant future when Jeopardy! champ James Holzhauer has already surpassed Ken Jennings on the all-time total cash winnings list.
What we do know is there’s a clip going around from what appears to be an episode with Holzhauer. It shows a Final Jeopardy in which the answer to the clue is Christopher Marlowe. But more importantly, it shows Holzhauer actually trailing heading in to the final with $23,400 and nailing the answer while only wagering $1,399. Emma, the contestant ahead of him, wagered $20,000 and guessed Marlowe to beat the man who, up to Monday’s episode, had won 32 straight games.
