A snow slope obstacle course is coming to Manchester

You've tackled Tough Mudder and bounced your way around Gung-Ho! Now what?

The latest obstacle race coming to Greater Manchester will pit contestants against sub-zero temperatures on a real snow ski slope.

SnowStormer - billed as the UK’s first ever snow-based obstacle run - is coming to the Chill Factore in September with 25 obstacles to tackle.

Set over a 15-degree incline with 25 indoor and outdoor obstacles to conquer, the 5km course will feel more like a 10km expedition, organisers say.

Participants must run, climb over, crawl through and slide across obstacles including ice walls, giant inflatables, cryo tunnels and the SnowStormer Yeti run, before a big airbag finish.

Organisers say the challenge - which takes around an hour and a half to complete - is founded on the principles of Arctic training, working the body at a higher intensity and burning more calories than in warmer temperatures.

The course culminates with an après ski party featuring themed street food, cocktails and DJs in the base camp Finishers' Village.

Chris Wood, chief executive officer of SnowStormer, said: "Our SnowStormer events combine the UK’s love for obstacle courses with the principles of Arctic training and of course a lot of fun in between. We think it offers participants a truly unique experience.

“Steeper, colder and more exhilarating than anything before it – it really is the ultimate experience for new and seasoned competitors.”

The event is touring the country and will visit the Chill Factore, part of Trafford entertainment complex Beyond, on September 28. The challenge is staged over several waves between 8am and 3pm. Participants must be aged 18 or over on the day of the event.

Early bird tickets are on sale now priced at £59 from snowstormer.co.uk/venue/manchester .
