A snow globe bar is opening at Manchester Christmas Markets this winter

A snow globe bar is opening at Manchester's Christmas Markets this year, serving warming winter cocktails inside a giant dome.

Based at the new Piccadilly Gardens market site, the bar will also host regular live music performances throughout the festivities.

Guests will be able to order gin hot toddies and other seasonal specialities under a transparent canopy sparkling with fairy lights.

Organiser and visual conceptual designer Laura Tacey, of bar operator Juniper1933, said: "Our concept is new to Manchester and we're very excited about the experience we will be offering Christmas market shoppers.

"We welcome shoppers to enjoy a winter warmer and recommend one of our speciality hot gin toddies.

"We will bring the magic of Christmas back to life for all the big kids, at heart. Sitting under the stars and enjoying a Juniper1933 gin hot toddy will feel magical."

The first live music night takes place on Saturday November 9, featuring an oompah band as well as choral performances from Longford Community Choir and League of Ladies WI Choir. Tickets to the event are on sale now priced at £12 plus booking fees.

The Snow Globe bar will be joined in Piccadilly Gardens by food and drink traders including Campfire S'mores, selling the classic American molten marshmallow and chocolate biscuit treats; Hot Stuff Bread Company, serving fresh pretzel dough stuffed with gourmet fillings; and Eat Greek, with gyros kebabs and halloumi fries.

The markets return from November 8 to December 21, with stalls remaining open for an extra day, until December 22, at the Albert Square site.
