These historic images give a glimpse into what life in Paisley once looked like many years ago.

Taken by well-known Paisley photographer Harold Hornby, the series of pictures date from the early 1960s all the way to the 1990s.

Harold, who was known as Harry, died on December 5, aged 101, and his son Paul Hornby has shared a selection of his historic snapshots with the Express.

Harry became an avid lover of photography in the 1960s after purchasing his first portable camera.

Some his more famous pictures showed many of the area’s most historic moments, such as the demolition of the ‘Five Fingers’ high flats in Foxbar and the devastating floods in Ferguslie in 1995
