A sleeping figure sculpture by Tracey Emin to feature at this year's Frieze

Tracey Emin is one of more than 20 sculptors transforming Regents Park into an open air art gallery as part of this year’s Frieze art fair.

London’s largest free display of outdoor art returns to Regent’s Park next month before the fair opens in October.

The works, chosen by Claire Lilley from the award-winning Yorkshire Sculpture Park, also include American artist Robert Indiana’s ONE through ZERO (corr).

The eight-foot high steel numbers will be joined in the park by an Emin sculpture of a sleeping figure, a life sized model of a toy car and a three metre high figure of the children’s character Miffy.

Lilley said the works show “the extraordinary strength and vitality of this form of art”.

She said: “This year’s edition is as eclectic and creative as ever.

“Sited in relation to the landscape forms and beautiful trees of the English Garden of The Regent’s Park, I hope this temporary sculpture park, with works by prominent artists from around the world, will intrigue and give pleasure to the many hundreds of thousands of residents, workers and tourists who will visit the gardens over the summer months.”

Frieze Sculpture opens in Regent’s Park from July 3 to October 6.
