Choosing what to go as for fancy dress is always a difficult task.

Everyone wants to impress with the most original outfit so they can be sure to steal the show.

Lacey Tiffney, from Tameside , was met with the same dilemma when deciding what to wear for dress up day at school on Monday.

The seven-year-old, who goes to Canon Burrows primary school in Ashton , was told she had to dress up as something that represents Manchester.

Fearing that most of her friends would go as the Manchester worker bee, or Oasis, Lacey wanted to be different - so instead - she dressed up as her local paper.

Speaking to the Manchester Evening News , Lacey's mum, Alexandra Tiffney said: "The kids had to dress up for 'art week' and we had a letter home saying Lacey had to dress up as something from Manchester.

"We thought a lot of kids would go as a bee or Oasis and we wanted to do something different so she decided to go as the MEN."

The family used Saturday's paper to create a newspaper skirt, matching t-shirt and headband.

"I used to work in public relations so would buy the paper most weekends, so Lacey knows it covers the news in our local area," Alex said.

"She was really excited this morning because she was pretty sure that nobody else would be dressed as a newspaper. She even kept it a secret from all her friends so nobody would copy her."

"I dropped her off this morning and saw a few bees and Noel Gallaghers' so hopefully she is the only MEN," Alex added.

We might be biased, but we think Lacey's outfit wins by a mile.
