A huge Aldi supermarket is being built just off the M60 in Urmston - with one of the motorway's sliproads set to change to accommodate it.
The site on Neary Way, just off junction 10 of the M60 opposite the Chill Factore, is set to feature a 1,755 square metre Aldi store, a Starbucks coffee drive-thru and a 338 space carpark with electric vehicle charging points.
Building work on site has already started and is expected to be completed and handed over to Aldi and Starbucks by March 2020.
The stores are then expected to open by the following summer.
As part of the development, changes will be made to the M60's junction 10 sliproad as new roadmarkings are painted on and the road where Neary Way meets the Shetland Circle roundabout will be widened to add a new feeder lane.
New pedestrian crossings with dropped kerbs will also be installed in the area to improve access.
Trafford Council approved the original planning application from Peel developers almost a year ago, but the final changes to the development's conditions were only approved by the authority last week, on Thursday November 7.
Most of the ground work on the site is now complete and a spokesperson for Peel said they expect to see building work begin above ground very soon.
It is understood Peel will be making a financial contribution to Trafford Council to pay towards the roadworks and infrastructure changes, but the exact amount is still being finalised.

Initial ground investigations in the area found trace amounts of asbestos in the soil, with site contractors advised to take necessary precautions to eliminate any health risks.
Trafford Council has not yet released details of when the work on the M60 sliproad and at the Shetland Circle roundabout is due to begin and end.
