A secret garden sanctuary at New Lambton just hit the market

Images supplied

Known as the Garden House by locals, this extremely rare offering in New Lambton has plenty of intrigue to it.

Hidden behind a private and unassuming facade is a two-bedroom house on 1250 square metres of lovingly landscaped grounds.

The property at 71-73 Freyberg Street is being marketed by Todd Mason, of McGrath New Lambton, and is being offered for sale for the first time in over 30 years. A guide has not yet been set due to its uniqueness.

The private owners have created a seen-to-be-believed tropical oasis over two lots of land in what is considered a highly desirable lifestyle location. It it is within walking distance to schools, Blackbutt Shopping Village, parks and Blackbutt Reserve.

"There's never been a property like it come to the market in that location," Mr Mason said. "Most people drive past and don't even know it's there.

"Most of the block sizes in that area range from 370 to 430 square metres. This is 1250 square metres on the flat close to the shops. You're probably not going to find that lot size in that location ever again."

The property has a double-street frontage of 27 metres.

It is open for inspection on Saturday from 10.30am until 11.15am.
