A second severe weather warning has been issued for rain in Wales by the Met Office

The Met Office has issued another severe weather warning for rain.

The warning is a yellow warning for rain and applies for the entire south Wales coast for part of Tuesday.

This follows another warning which is in place for the entire country today.

What area does the warning cover?

Unlike the weather warning on Sunday this warning does not cover all of Wales.

The area affected is essentially the entire south coast up until the end of the Beacons.

Areas include:

  • Cardiff

  • Swansea

  • Newport

  • Carmarthenshire

  • Pembrokeshire

  • The Valleys

  • Monmouthshire

  • Southern parts of Powys

The area covered by the warning (Met Office)

When is the warning in force? 

The warning is in place on Tuesday, September 24 from 12am until 3pm.

According to the Met Office the weather is going to be particularly bad in the morning.

What should you expect?

According to the meteorologists at the Met Office you should expect the following disruption:

  • Bus and train services probably affected with journey times taking longer

  • Spray and flooding on roads probably making journey times longer

  • Flooding of a few homes and businesses is likely

South and south west Wales are not the only areas of the UK affected by the warning.

All of the south coast of England up towards Gloucestershire is also affected.
