A second KFC re-opens drive-thru in Notts

Fast food chain KFC has re-opened a second drive-thru in Notts today.

The branch in Newark began serving customers in their cars from noon. It comes hot on the heels of the re-opening of the drive-thru at a KFC in Forest Town yesterday. This morning saw massive tailbacks as drivers queued to get a fried chicken fix.

While KFC in Fulmar Close is also delivering, the Newark branch in Lincoln Road is drive-thru only.

The rest of the country's KFC sites including Milton Street in the city centre, Mapperley, Sneinton, Radford and Netherfield, remain closed for now.

The Long Eaton branch is also shut.

A spokeswoman said: "We’re re-opening our restaurants carefully and looking at them on a case by case basis, including those in Nottingham – so watch this space.

"The wellbeing of our teams and customers comes first though – so if we can’t re-open responsibly, we won’t at all. It’s that simple.”
