The Dallas Cowboys had their season come to an abrupt end Sunday when they lost at home to the San Francisco 49ers, 23-17, in a game that came down to the wire after Jimmy Garoppolo did his best to give it away.
The Cowboys won the NFC East and had the weapons on offense and defense to make a run in the playoffs but they once again did themselves in with too many costly penalties and were unable to dig themselves out a hole that saw them trailing 23-7 in the fourth quarter.
Jerry Jones’ team continues to struggle in the postseason when they lights get brighter and everything is put on the line. Nothing sums up those frustrations better than this shot of a fan at the game:
