A’s fans have been flying a ‘Houston Asterisks’ banner over the stadium to taunt the Astros

Before the coronavirus pandemic put the baseball season on hold, 2020 was supposed to be a difficult season for the Houston Astros.

They were coming off an offseason dominated by a cheating scandal, and fans were already letting the Astros players hear it in spring training before baseball stopped.

Though baseball has returned without fans in attendance, a group of Oakland A’s fans found a way to taunt the Astros from outside the stadium.

In a GoFundMe page started by A’s fan Jon Wilson, they were able to raise enough money to have a plane fly over Oakland Coliseum pregame this weekend with a “Houston Asterisks” banner. The plane is set to return for Sunday’s game as well.

According to Wilson’s GoFundMe update, he’s hoping to continue this aerial heckling for the Astros’ remaining road games.

After all, an empty stadium can’t stop fans from heckling the Astros.
