Just because it’s been nearly two years since the Houston Astros sign-stealing scandal was revealed and MLB fans weren’t in the stands in 2020 doesn’t mean everyone suddenly forgot about it.
We saw that earlier in the year in spring training when New York Yankees fans booed Toronto Blue Jays star Lourdes Gurriel Jr. (wrong Gurriel!) thinking he was involved.
Oakland Athletics fans proved they’re not going to let things slide on Thursday during Opening Day with their reaction. There were signs. There were trash cans like there were in spring training last year. And yes, there were sooooo many boos.
