A’s fan evades security for a daring escape after running on the field

If you’re a fan, it’s never a good idea to run on the field during a baseball game. We’ve seen it time and time again: Fan runs on the field, gets tackled, gets arrested.

That sequence rarely ends well for the fan.

Well, on Saturday, an A’s fan at Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum (or RingCentral Coliseum, I guess) pulled off the miraculous. This fan ran on the field, evaded security, climbed the outfield wall and dashed for the exits up a section of stadium stairs.

I’m obviously not in charge of these sorts of things, but I’d like to think that if a fan can successfully escape after running on the field at a sporting event, he or she gets to do so with impunity.

Seriously, what an effort. Even if it did appear that someone confronted him up those steps, it was a legendary dash on the field.

This was reminiscent of a Houston Astros fan who did successfully escape a run on the field in 2011 before being arrested outside the stadium.
