A's-Astros Sunday game postponed

OAKLAND, Calif. _ Sunday's game between the A's and Huston Astros _ the finale of a three-game series _ was postponed because of rain.

No makeup date has been announced. The most logical choice could be in September, when the Astros visit the Coliseum for a three-game series Sept. 8-11. Both teams have off-days immediately before and after the series.

A doubleheader during a four-game series against Houston June 19-22 is another possibility.

The A's will continue their 10-game homestand on Monday at 7:05 p.m. when they host the Texas Rangers for the first of a three-game series.

Despite the postponement, manager Bob Melvin said he will not skip anyone's spot in the starting rotation.

"Everybody gets an extra day of rest," Melvin said.
