A rotting caravan and other rubbish dumped at an old shop has all just suddenly vanished

An ugly mess in front of an old shop has all just vanished, in the space of a day.

The abandoned shop in Tanycoed Road, Clydach , had become a dumping ground for all manner of rubbish.

There was an old chair, mattress, and even a rotting old caravan .

Residents who live nearby were fed up with it.

One, Barbara Atkins, who had lived on the estate for around 50 years, said at the time the issue was highlighted, in April this year: "It's disgusting.

"At first when the caravan showed up a couple years ago things were still tidy, but now it's getting ridiculous.

"The windows have been smashed, the door ripped off, rubbish dumped and there's a

mattress and an armchair now. It needs to be taken care of."

It seems her prayers have now been answered.

Everything has been cleared from the shop front, but even residents don't know who took it all away.

Barbara added: "I went out shopping this morning, everything was still there.

"But when I was walking back I realized that it was all cleared. I missed it."

Swansea Council has previously served the owners of the property with an environmental notice ordering the area to be cleared.

The council had the option to clear the mess itself and recoup the cost from the owners, if nothing was done.

Swansea Council has been asked to comment on the rubbish disappearing from the property.
