A reunion is being held for the last intake at a Whitefield-based grammar school

A reunion bash is being held for the last intake at a Whitefield-based grammar school.

The class, which was the last to sit the 11-plus entry exam at Stand Grammar School for Girls back in 1978, will meet at Stand Golf Club on Saturday.

The school was renamed Philips High School when it became a comprehensive school later that year, and still occupies the same building in Higher Lane.

The event will get under way at the golf club, in Ashbourne Grove, at 7pm and it is hoped that as many former pupils as possible will attend.

For more information on the reunion event, call Diane Burdaky on 07543298827.
