Two former pubs in Bolton town centre could be turned into shops, flats and shared accommodation.
The Nelson in Chorley Old Road, which closed last year, could be transformed into two houses of multiple occupancy (HMOs).
Revised plans to knock down part of The Albion and convert it into shops with flats above are also expected to be revealed within the next few weeks.
A planning application for 16 apartments above three retail units on the ground floor of the building in Moor Lane has been withdrawn.
Planning agent Michael Ainsworth said that the applicant, PH Holdings, has been asked to make some “tweaks” to the proposal, including which materials would be used.
He said: “Following planning officers’ feedback, we have withdrawn it with a view to resubmit a new plan with planning officers’ comments.”
The two-storey red brick building in Chorley Road, last occupied by The Nelson pub, has been vacant since April 2019, according to a planning application submitted by Zvi Portnoy of Amrose Properties Limited.
Town hall planning officers are expected to decide the outcome of this application by the end of March.
