A reporter absolutely dunked on Brian Kelly after the LSU coach dissed the media for being late

Brian Kelly’s tenure at LSU is off to a fantastic start, isn’t it?

Remember when he switched up his northern accent and traded it for a southern one as soon as he got the LSU job? Good times. Good, good times. After his first loss at LSU, though, that accent is long gone.

In the very first game of the season on primetime television, we witnessed Kelly’s squad have a potential game-tying extra point blocked to end the game. Just the most catastrophic and heartbreaking ending possible.

It seems to have Kelly on a bit of an edge. In his media availability on Tuesday, he took a dig at reporters for being late to his press conference.

One reporter had an absolutely fantastic response waiting for him though.

“Kelly: We’ll open it up to this late-arriving media crowd that must have enjoyed the weekend. That’s usually $10 that we put in the kitty. We’ll have a big bash at the end of the year at my place.

The reporter: Maybe if you win I’d be on time.”

OOHHHHHHH BURN. She got him good. He was not prepared for it. This was just brilliant.

The reporter heard in the video is Leah Vann of The Advocate in Baton Rogue. She explained her dig at Kelly was all in good fun. She was coming in from a doctor’s appointment and actually made it on time.

She said he took it as a joke but, uh, are we sure he took it as a joke? His response didn’t seem very jokey.

Regardless, this was incredible. The internet loved it.

This is going to be a fun year.
