'A real team' - Jurgen Klopp gushing in his praise of Mauricio Pochettino and Tottenham

It is first versus third at Anfield on Sunday.

Although by the time the fixture comes around it is likely to be second against third, with Manchester City taking on Fulham at Craven Cottage on Saturday.

Tottenham have hit the buffers in recent weeks, picking up just one point from the last possible 12 available.

Their slim title hopes have been dashed and they now face a fight to hold onto their place in the top four, with Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea all breathing down their necks.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp fires Mohamed Salah warning to Tottenham ahead of Anfield clash

Mauricio Pochettino's side have had three weeks off to prepare for Sunday's game, however, although a number of players have had long journeys on international duty, and Klopp knows his team are in for a real test when they visit Anfield.

The Liverpool boss was gushing in his praise of the work Pochettino has done in north London during his pre-match press conference on Friday.

He said: "There are so many positive things you could say about Mauricio Pochettino. In the country of transfers, if you don’t do transfers then that’s a really big headline.

"If you have the right team, you don't have to be too busy in transfers. That's a real team."

"I’m sure Mauricio would have liked to have added but the players you have you can improve as well. Maybe they are better than the boy you wanted to buy.

Tottenham fans will love what Chris Sutton said about their Champions League tie with Man City

"I respect their way a lot. At the end we all have to make our own decisions.

"They had to pay for the stadium by themselves right? Nobody knows? So you have to save a little bit of money."
