A Quiet Place 2: Release date delayed over coronavirus fears, John Krasinski confirms

A Quiet Place Part II has had its UK release delayed due to coronavirus concerns.

The eagerly anticipated horror sequel, starring Emily Blunt, was due to be released next Thursday (19 March), but director John Krasinski has confirmed it will no longer go ahead.

On Twitter, Krasinski wrote: “One of the things I’m most proud of is that people have said our movie is one you have to see all together. Well due to the ever-changing circumstances of what’s going on in the world around us, now is clearly not the right time to do that.

“As insanely excited as we are for all of you to see this movie... I’m gonna wait to release the film til we CAN all see it together! So here’s to our group movie date! See you soon!”

A replacement date has yet to be announced.

It is understood that individuals who have already pre-booked tickets for the film will be notified by their points of purchase about refunds.

The delay makes A Quiet Place Part II the third high-profile film to have its release pulled, following No Time to Die and Peter Rabbit 2.
