A popular Cardiff Harvester closed down on Mother's Day

The Harvester restaurant in Ty Glas, Cardiff , closed its doors for the final time on Mother's Day as the premises has been put up for sale.

The Harvester website posted a note to customers saying: "We’re sad to say this but Ty Glas will be closing following our Mother’s Day celebrations on Sunday 31 March 2019."

WalesOnline contacted Harvester to find out what the reason behind the closure was. The parent company Mitchells and Butlers said that they were selling the Llanishen property after a review of their returns from their restaurants.

Harvester want to reassure guests that they should have no concerns about any health risks related to the matters referred to in the programme (the chronicle)

 

A Harvester spokesperson said: "We continuously review our estate to ensure that we’re always obtaining the best returns from each of our assets, and driving innovation across our brands, to enable us to continue to deliver shareholder value.

"Following an approach, we have taken the decision to sell the Ty Glas Harvester. The team have been consulted and we hope to redeploy as many employees as possible to other sites we operate nearby.”

On the restaurant's Facebook page, many customers expressed their disappointment at the closure.

And Mandy Chick added:  "Gutted love this place. Sorry to see it close. Is there any where near by you can rent? Lovely staff too."
