A Place In The Sun's Leah Charles King dumbfounded by buyers' plans for their garden

A Place In The Sun's Leah Charles King was taken aback to hear her buyers' plans to create a small chilli farm.

The property expert flew off to Western Cyprus to help house hunters Amanda and Keith search for their perfect holiday home. They had been together for 31 years after meeting in the RAF and wanted the holiday home to become a permanent place they can retire.

With a budget of £250,000, Leah lined up five potential properties before quizzing the pair on what specific requirements their dream home should include.

Amanda wanted an isolated property in the mountains or a raised location to make the most of the colder air during the summer. They weren't bothered about whether or not they were close to the sea but a deal breaker was that they must own a large garden.

Leah questioned why the garden was such a priority, assuming it was a family-orientated issue. Keith said that was indeed a factor but their main priority was to eventually grow their own range of spicy vegetables.

Keith added: "We want to grow chillis. We grow them at home." A dumbfounded Leah asked what variety of chilli the garden would see before Keith revealed they already had their hands full with a range of different strains.

He added: "Yeah, we have 17 different ones at home." The property expert made a note of their mini-farm requirements and promised to do her best to accommodate them.

Coming together at the end of the show, the couple managed to find their dream property for £210,000 which included its very own spacious garden ready for planting which forced Amanda to shed a few tears of happiness.
