A Place in the Sun's Laura Hamilton suffers nasty accident before filming

A Place in the Sun's Laura Hamilton has suffered a nasty accident amid filming for a new programme.

The Channel 4 presenter had been to a roller disco before heading to work, but while there she suffered a nasty fall and injured her knee. Laura took to Instagram to give fans an update, letting them know that the accident wasn't having an impact on her work.

She shared a clip of her cuddling with her daughter, seven-year-old Tahlia, as they both soaked up some sun and explained that their Easter holidays had already started. Laura, 40, said: "Last night you will see from my stories that I decided to take my children to a roller disco."

The property expert continued: "Well... that was interesting. I'll show you my knee and what happened because it's quite black and green and..." Her daughter added: "Purple."

Laura agreed as she said: "Yeah it's pretty bad isn't it? So mummy fell over and made a fool of herself which is standard really."

Explaining what they were doing in Spain, the TV host said: "We flew to Spain because I am filming something new and exciting. It's not A Place in the Sun but it's A Place in the Sun related.

"You might have seen a few of the other presenters out and about filming something slightly different and now it's my turn over the next few days.

"So I'm super grateful to have my little people with me. We're going to have some fun in the sun."

As promised Laura went on to show an image of her injuries with her 178,000 Instagram followers. Her knee was badly bruised and swollen as she captioned it: "Roller disco disaster!"

Laura previously told the Liverpool ECHO that her kids "aren't phased" about her being on telly. She said: "Sometimes they will watch me when they’re having breakfast before school on This Morning. But it’s all they’ve known. It’s great, I don’t think they’re phased by the fact that I’m on telly."

She added that Channel 4 often accommodate her two children - Tahlia and Rocko - and they join her on her travels while she works on A Place in the Sun. Laura said: "They’ve travelled so much with me, I’ve been very fortunate with A Place in the Sun so they’ve kind of come along with me on my travels so they both have a real sense of adventure.

"They’ve been with me sometimes when I’m away and they go like ‘oh let’s do a little property tour and have a look around’ and I’m like ‘oh my word they spend far too much time with me looking at houses!'"
