A Place in the Sun's Laura Hamilton cringes as couple slam 'soulless' villa

A Place in the Sun's Laura Hamilton was left red-faced after her guests slated a 'soulless, disastrous' villa she took them to in Greece on Tuesday's episode of the show.

Couple Ginny and Tony were on the Mani Peninsula in the country hoping to purchase a property for £230,000. However, the presenter's first choice didn't go down well.

The house had three bedrooms and was 15 minutes from the beach, however as soon as they saw it, the couple wanted to know if the property had a pool.

Laura told them it didn't to which Tony replied: “What space belongs to you and what space belongs to the next-door neighbour?”

Laura explained the outdoor spaces were split between the property and the house next door, but Tony dived in again asking: "Where would you put a pool?”

The host replied: "There is no pool with this one but..." before Tony interjected asking: "Is there a possibility to put one in?”

Steeling herself, Laura explained that the estate agent had said there was room for a small pool, but Tony interjected again.

Tired of being being cut off, Laura quipped: "Well I don't know how big you want it."

Tony replied: "Not just to dip my toes in."

After putting his foot in it again, Laura finally got Tony inside the property, however, the atmosphere didn't improve.

Looking around, he said: "Do you want me to be honest? I don’t see myself living here.

“It doesn’t feel like a home. I’m thinking about the winter, not about when the sun’s shining. It just feels a bit soulless to me."

As they left the property, Laura admitted to viewers that the viewing had been "disastrous".

It's not the first time the popular property show has caused controversy.

A hopeful home-hunter recently apologised to presenter Jasmine Harman after she and her husband failed to be impressed by each one of the properties shown to them.
