Buying a property is a stressful task, let alone trying to hunt down a dream pad abroad.
And A Place in the Sun presenter Laura Hamilton was astonished on Tuesday's episode of the property series when she met a couple, Kathryn and Mark, who were looking to part with £80,000 for a dream home in the Greek region of the Kassandra Peninsula.
The pair were shown five places by Laura before deciding that they were keen on the fifth property, which was priced at £79,000 after having been reduced by £24,000 following a year on the market, and that they wished to make an offer.
After consulting one another, the hopeful holiday homeowners shared with Laura that they wanted her to put forward an offer of £70,000 to the owners.

The reason behind the figure they settled on was due to them saying they needed a report from a structural engineer before they would be happy with the purchase.
Before calling up the seller's estate agent, Laura told that the offer may not be accepted as the owners had already lowered the price over £20,000.

She then gave the couple the bad news that the offer was rejected and without checking with wife, Mark then urged Laura to offer £75,000.
Kathryn was left dumbfounded by her husband's decision without asking her approval, and yelped: "I wasn't expecting that."
Laura also shared she was "surprised" Mark hadn't checked with Kathryn first, and she added: "There’s me looking and thinking, ‘You what?’”

Sadly, the second offer was not enough for the owners - who told them they would not move on the price.
The pair then were left without securing a property in the warmer climes and Laura gave them her well-wished and told them that she hopes they can find something to suit them in the future.
