A Place in the Sun's Danni Menzies' warning snubbed as buyers alarmed by 'big problem'

A Place in the Sun's Danni Menzies took it on the chin as her warning was brutally snubbed.

The host was helping Sandy and Andy find their dream Italian property on today's show. The married couple were armed with a budget of £70,000 and were looking for a two bedroom home in Lazio.

The househunters had an extensive criteria as they wanted a detached home with a large enough garden for them to grow enough fruit and vegetables to be self sufficient. Danni was taken aback by the criteria as she said: "We've got quite a big wishlist is there anything we can compromise at all?"

The couple confirmed they could maybe push their budget by an extra £10,000 if Danni identified the dream property. The host admitted the search was a struggle as she said: "It's proving to be a tough one and that's because they want this holiday home to one day be a permanent base."

The search started off in Santopadre but Sandy was immediately unimpressed by the size and the home was ruled out. Danni vowed to not be disheartened by the snub as she said: "So we're not off to the flying start I'd hoped for, so the main thing I need to work on is space and you mentioned access as well? I'm just going to take it on the chin and do a better job on the next one."

However, things did not improve for the next home as Danni tried to get them to compromise on the wishlist. The home was a semi detached property, which alarmed the buyers.

Sandy said: "That's a big problem for us." They continued with the search but immediately shut down the search when they saw how small the garden was. Sandy added: "It's a definite no. I'm afraid."

They fell in love with the next home, which was a two bed home in Colfelice. The home was priced at £70,535 and the buyers secured their new home and the land next to the property for £76,000.
