A Place In The Sun's Ben Hillman overhauls show after buyers' late admission

A Place In The Sun's Ben Hillman had to find new homes after his buyers refrained from telling him everything was out of their budget.

Jo and DP flew off to Nerja on Spain's Costa del Sol to find a retirement home they could escape to during the winter. Ben lined up five options for the pair to consider but an unrealistic request pushed his property prowess to the limit.

Originally, they were happy with the homes Ben found but decided that they were no longer interested by the third as they suddenly didn't meet their requirements.

The first property was on the market for £226,050 with the second coming in at £210,084. The features and price tag initially didn't bother the couple as they said they were both potentials but after the third viewing, said they were too expensive.

Ben was taken aback by the admission as he lined up properties in the heart of Nerja that specifically met their budget. He asked them to confirm if any of the previous homes were still contenders before being met with a swift, "No."

He said: "The thing is, you go into Nerja, the prices go up, a property like this in Nerja is out of budget... So, obviously you want something that is unaffordable, essentially."

Speaking to the camera, he added: "Gosh, I thought it was all going so well, but I think Jo just told me we've gone from potentially three contenders to zero! If they want more space and access to the buzz of the town on their budget, we're going to have to leave Nerja."

Jo and DP later said they would need more time to discuss their moving arrangements as they left the show with nothing.
