A Place in the Sun removed from schedule in Channel 4 weekday programme shake-up

A Place in the Sun has temporarily come off the air as the Channel 4 series is missing from daytime TV schedules over the next few days.

The hugely popular daytime Channel 4 show, hosted by a rolling roster including Scots presenter Jean Johansson, usually runs at 3pm every weekday but as coverage of Crufts continues, a shake-up has been introduced across the afternoon network of programmes.

A Place in the Sun wasn't broadcast on Thursday and won't be shown on Friday (March 10) as it is moved for the annual televised dog show fronted by Clare Balding.

A New Life in the Sun: Where Are They Now? is then being aired from 4pm - 5pm.

Next week, Tool Club takes the usual slot of A Place in the Sun every weekday, airing from 3pm - 4pm, while A New Life in the Sun airs from 4PM - 5PM.

Tool Club sees people taking part being helped to discover the skills and confidence to allow them to tackle DIY challenges themselves, with the help of experts Max McMurdo, Julie Miller-Osborn and Jess Grizzle.

At this time it is unclear when A Place in the Sun will next air and Channel 4 have been approached for comment.

Earlier this week we reported original A Place in the Sun hosts Jasmine Harman and Jonnie Irwin were reunited at a live exhibition event in Manchester amid Jonnie's tragic terminal cancer battle.

Jasmine, 47, gave fans a sneak peek behind the scenes at A Place in the Sun Live, a spin-off from the main show.

And as part of the clips, the TV host shared a heartwarming snap with co-star Jonnie Irwin, who had made a remarkable return to work despite his terminal illness.
