Property presenter Johnnie Irwin got his angles all wrong when he went house-hunting for a former teacher in Bulgaria.
Sarah fell in love with the country 30 years ago when she worked there during the 1980s.
And in yesterday's episode of Channel 4's A Place In The Sun she said she wanted to buy a holiday home in the traditional town of Tryavna, at the foot of the Balkans.
Together with her best friend Suzie, Sarah had travelled to the picturesque mountain town to look at several houses that the series presenter Jonnie thought would be perfect for her.
But despite having an inheritance of £40,000 to spend, the home that Johnnie had initially chosen didn't tick any of her boxes - because it was too much like living in a box.
Jonnie expectantly led the women into one of its rooms, decorated in a bright lilac colour and said: "OK ladies, well this, believe it or not, I don't think is your bedroom. This is potentially the living room."
But as soon as Sarah walked in, she was disappointed and Suzie agreed that it wasn't suitable for her friend's quirky style.
She exclaimed: "This is not Sarah. It's just a box."
Jonnie wasn't put off and suggested that the 1970s-style property could be made bigger by knocking down the partition wall into the kitchen.
He: "You might consider knocking through this room and to the next one, let me show you."
Suzie was still not impressed and added: "Even if you knocked it through you've just got a bigger box."
To make matters worse, when the ladies entered the kitchen, they noticed that it did not even contain a cooker.
Luckily for Johnnie, Tryavna and the surrounding area boasts a variety of eye-catching houses. It's also a haven for crafts like carving and icon painting, so Sarah was sure to find somewhere that suited her better. And eventually, she did.
Johnnie found her a five-bedroom villa with original features and a wood-burning stove. It was priced below Sarah's budget at £28,000 and she started to become tearful when she saw it.
