A Place in the Sun's Jasmine Harman shared the disappointing truth after welcoming the buyers to a stunning castle.
The property expert helped Sarah and George find their dream home abroad on Tuesday's episode. The married couple were looking for a traditional French cottage in the Charente region.
They were armed with a maxmum budget of £300,000 and wanted somewhere large enough for their children and grandchildren to visit. The two wanted somewhere with an old farmhouse feel with a minimum of four bedrooms.

Jasmine explained the prices for homes in the region started at around £240,000 and the couple's budget was perfect to get some great options.
The search got off to a great start but the couple were looking for somewhere with a more rustic feel. This prompted Jasmine to take the buyers to the Montbron region.
She explained how one of the selling points of the region is that there are 400 chateaus before taking a detour to show Sarah and Greg the amazing Château de La Rochefoucauld.
She said: "What do you think of our next property?" George joked "that will do" as Sarah said it is the sort of building that attracted them to living in the region.
She added: "It's stunning. It's what you imagine in France." Jasmine said she wished she could show them around as she reaffirmed the disappointing truth.
She said: "Actually this place isn't far from the property that we are going to see. I'm afraid this isn't really it. It's about a 15 minute drive from here."
The buyers discounted the third home before they fell in love with the last property on the search. The five bed house was priced just under £300,000 and the couple were thrilled when they secured their new home for £280,500.
