A Place In The Sun axed for new Channel 4 series Tool Club in schedule shake-up this week

A Place In The Sun viewers won't be able to watch the show this week due to a Channel 4 schedule shake-up.

The series is cancelled this week and will be replaced by the new TV show Tool Club.

The programme helps house hunters find their dream holiday home and is usually hosted by presenters Laura Hamilton, Jasmine Harman and a few others.

Meanwhile, viewers will get to watch DIY professionals help novices tackle their home renovations and DIY projects.

Kevin Duala hosts the series and the professionals include Max McMurdo, Julia Miller-Osborn and Jess Grizzle.

The series first premiered two years ago but will air for the first time on Channel 4 this week.

It's not yet been confirmed whether A Place in the Sun will return to Channel 4 after Tool Club's run or whether another programme will temporarily take its place.

Fans were not impressed with the schedule shake-up and took to Twitter to share their complaints.

"Oh dear oh dear my afternoons have gone completely awry, now that Channel 4 have decided to replace #aplaceinthesun with #toolclub," one user said.

"Unless this new show features two completely clueless novices rating different workshops, I’m all at sea."

"Just checked today’s Channel 4 schedule. What the hell IS #ToolClub and is it a club for tools? #aplaceinthesun," another quipped while one person joked: "They should have sent the #toolclub team to do up some of the cheap apartments bought on #aplaceinthesun... memo to @CH4."

Earlier this month, host Craig was tasked with a difficult job (Channel 4)

Earlier this month, host Craig Rowe was tasked with a difficult search as he hoped to find John and Diane's dream holiday home on Spain's Costa Calida.

The couple had a maximum budget of £180,000 and were looking for a property with enough space to enjoy it with their grown-up daughters and granddaughters.

Although the first property went down well, the second property immediately received a negative response from the couple despite it coming with more outdoor space than the first offering, a roof terrace and a balcony.

After walking up to the property, Diane said: "The road is too narrow, it's all a bit tight," before John rejected it outright and added: "It's not what we are looking for."

John questioned whether they should look inside the bungalow before Craig eventually persuaded them to give the property a chance.

Tool Club will broadcast every weekday at 3pm on Channel 4.
