A pizza vending machine is coming to the Merchant City next month

An unusual kind of vending machine to set to be installed in the city.

The Pizza Machine, the first of its kind in Scotland, will be appearing in the Merchant City next month.

Kristofer Maguire, the majority shareholder along with his brother Raymond and dad Kevin - who also own the Metropolitan Bar in the Merchant City - will be installing the vending machine at the junction on Blackfriars Street and High Street.

The machine can hold 96 fresh pizzas that are stored in a chiller. When a customer selects the pizza of their choice, the machine cooks it within three minutes (yip, three whole minutes).

It's then delivered ready to eat through one of the slots at the front of the machine.

The pizzas will be supplied from Inn on the Green, a new restaurant on Milton of Campsie's Crow Road, run by Kieran Pole and Paul Donnachie.

The Pizza Machine has two ovens and can cook simultaneously and is contactless to ensure no money is stored inside.

Kristofer expects the machine to go live on site on November 13th to give Glaswegians the chance to try it!
