Much has been made of the royal train's opulence, but a peek at Prince Charles's study suggests otherwise. With its blond wood, navy desk chair, twee watercolours, net curtains, grey carpet and paisley sofa (love those matching curtains), it feels more Travelodge than design-conscious heir to the throne. And pictures mounted on a door? If the entrance is in constant use – and aboard a train, between carriages, we imagine it is – they'd better be firmly secured. At least they should deter any door-slamming.
