A night out at Cleopatra's in Glasgow in 2001 - 21 photos of revellers having a blast

It was renowned as one of the best nights out in the city for a generation of young Glaswegians.

Affectionately known as "Clatty Pat's", Cleopatra's disco off the Great Western Road was the place to be for a cheap and cheerful night out with pals.

Founded in 1984 by Tina Conway, the legendary west end night spot was massively popular for over 20 years and became a particular favourite haunt for nurses working at the nearby Gartnavel hospital and the Western Infirmary.

In April 2001, when these rather excellent snaps were captured, revellers were positively bouncing on the tiles to the cheese-tastic tones of the chart-dominating pop groups the day, including Atomic Kitten and Hearsay.

The club became Viper in the late 2000s, but was reimagined as Irish-themed gastropub Kitty O'Sheas just last year.

Keep an eye out for the lad kitted out in full Austin Powers regalia - yeah, baby, yeah!
