A Newcastle bar is offering a free shot to every Great North Run runner

If you're running the Great North Run this weekend and reckon you will be in need of a little pick me up at the end of the world famous half marathon you're in luck.

And that's because as well as Wagamama rewarding GNR participants with a free main course, a Newcastle bar & restaurant is offering everyone who successfully completes the 13.1 Newcastle to South Shields road race a free shot!

Yes, Colonel Porters will be supporting all the good people of the North East and beyond who are doing the Great North Run this Sunday, September 8 with a little livener.

If you head down Dean Street to their Emporium on Sunday and present your medal you can get a free shot- a perfect way to celebrate your achievement! 

Also not to miss out the little ones they are offering free ice cream for kids on Saturday when they come in with the medals from the Junior Great North Run.

Barry Strout,  Manager at Colonel Porters said: "We are excited about welcoming the runners on Saturday & Sunday.

"The Great North Run is an institution here in the North East and we are only to happy to get involved.
