A new underground arcade bar themed on the seven deadly sins has opened in Manchester

A new arcade bar has opened in a Northern Quarter basement, taking over the former Fika site on Lever Street.

Fika's gentle appearance has been thrown away and replaced with a bold new look of arcade games, graffiti and neon lights to become 7 Sins.

Outside the venue, Fika's yellow awnings have been disguised with graffiti tags.

Descending a flight of stairs from street level, you'll find an underground lair with exposed brick walls and bare ceiling beams.

Doors opened on Thursday July 4, promising customers a "multitude of sins" inside.

There are burgers, sharers and brunches on the menu, with burger prices ranging from £6 to £8.50 and brunch items including eggs benedict and chicken and waffles.

Diners are being urged to 'give in to gluttony' - and with desserts including a cherry and marshmallow cheesecake, that should be easy enough.

Cocktails such as a Disco Iced Tea (made with five different spirits and blue Curacao) are priced at £8 each and sit alongside alcoholic slushies and milkshakes, wine and draught beer.

A two-for-one happy hour on cocktails runs every day of the week until 7pm.

A pool table, shuffleboard and arcade games have been installed in the new basement bar, with 50% off games to celebrate its opening.

43-45 Lever Street was previously the home of Bakerie, which closed suddenly in 2018 and became the short-lived Fika.

The site has stood empty since Fika vacated back in April, but is once again open for business from this week as 7 Sins.
