'A new low!' - Angry Arsenal fans can't believe what just happened to Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain 's latest return to the Emirates Stadium has seen him receive a guard of honour from the Arsenal squad.

This has been a recurring theme across the Premier League ever since the Reds were crowned champions of England just under a month ago.

And because the 26-year-old was named in Jurgen Klopp's starting line-up for the game, he along with the likes of Virgil van Dijk, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane have received a guard of honour for their efforts this season.

All of which has angered some Gunners supporters.

It's not lost on many that not only has Oxlade-Chamberlain picked up a Premier League winner's medal since leaving north London but he's also a Champions League winner.

As a result, seeing him get a guard of honour just before kick-off was almost too much for Arsenal fans to stomach.

On the other hand, Liverpool fans took great pleasure in seeing the midfielder get a guard of honour.

Take a look at what has been said on Twitter...

With that said, Oxlade-Chamberlain's success since his £40m move to Merseyside is probably one he doesn't quite regret.

"The first thing was the tough decision to leave Arsenal," he told Sky Sports back in 2017. "That was the only thing that was really tough for me and the deliberation but Liverpool was the only option for me in terms of where I thought I would be playing.

"The team and the feel of the whole football club in general just sat right with me.

"I think there are really exciting things to come here and especially with this manager so I felt it was right for me to push to be a part of that.

"I’m delighted that I finally got the opportunity to."
