Chocolate is one of life’s greatest pleasures, and a new cruise wants to celebrate everything cocoa.
The aptly named ‘Eurochocolate Cruise’ is a collaboration between Costa Cruises and Eurochocolate, the annual chocolate festival held in the Italian city of Perugia.
Departing on April 16, 2020, the cruise will leave from Civitavecchia before spending eight days docking in Genoa, Barcelona, Palma de Mallorca, Malta and Catania.
Guests on board will be able to participate in workshops, tastings, cooking classes as well as wine-chocolate pairing workshops.
Chocolate will also be the theme of the daily excursions, including a visit to Barcelona’s Chocolate Museum.
Costa Cruises' Italy Country manager, Carlo Schiavon told Lonely Planet: “We try to offer unique experiences to our guests and this is possible also thanks to prestigious partnerships like the one with Eurochocolate.
“[It] will allow us to have for the first time aboard a cruise ship the vibe, the fun and the tastes of the greatest international festival dedicated to chocolate.”
All guests will receive a goody bag full of chocolate when they embark, and there will also be a chocolate sculpture on board the ship hand crafted by a Eurochocolate master.
The cruise ship itself will hold 3,780 guests and has a swimming pool, water slide and an Aperol Spritz bar on board for when those taste buds need a switch up.
