The mobile testing unit is only for residents of Newport, and patients must bring ID and prove of address to their appointment.

Discussing how sites are selected in January, a spokesperson for Newport City Council said: "Newport City Council has worked closely with Aneurin Bevan Health Board, NHS Wales and Welsh Government to identify sites that support easier access for residents."

The new facility in Ringland is the fifth facility currently in operation in Newport.

There are two drive-though testing facilities in operation in Newport, one in Tredegar House and the other in Rodney Parade.

There is also a testing site for residents of Pill in the car park of the former Kwik Save on Commercial Road, and a mobile testing unit in Lliswerry in the International Sports Village.
