A new bar where you can play classic video games is coming to Cardiff

A new gaming bar will be opening in Cardiff and it is sure to have some of your favourite games.

The new bar, NQ64Cardiff, already has a number of bars in England and Scotland and will be making its move to Wales for the first time.

Taking over the site of the old Brass Bat Bar on St Mary's Street, this underground gaming bar will likely be full of classic games such as Pac-Man and Super Nintendo alongside more modern options like Mario Kart and Guitar Hero.

While NQ64Cardiff can't confirm just yet what games will be available the bar will serve beers and spirits from local brewers and distilleries and their own game-themed cocktails such as Princess Peach and Pacs a Punch.

The bar is hoping to open in November this year and is currently under renovation work to create this new gaming space.

Talking about their first bar in Wales, co-owner of NQ64 Matt Robson said: "We thought it might be something that might strike a chord and do well in other cities and towns across the whole of the UK...Cardiff definitely falls into that category that we want to prioritise."

The bar will be headed up by NQ64's first female general manager and they are currently in the process of looking for staff.

NQ64Cardiff will open in November 2021 on St Mary's Street.
