A Month After Launch, EA FC 26’s Clubs Mode Still Can’t Stay Stable

It honestly feels like there’s been a new issue every day with EA FC 26 — especially in Clubs mode. Earlier this month, PC players struggled to stay connected during matches, forcing many to rely on temporary workarounds instead of an immediate fix. A patch eventually arrived, but problems have continued. Now, it seems players across all platforms are facing another hurdle: connection issues preventing them from accessing Clubs altogether.

According to EASFCDirect — the official X account for EA FC 26 updates — “some players” have reported issues when attempting to open Clubs mode.

The developer has not specified what’s causing the outage, but player reports began flooding in early Thursday morning. Many describe being unable to load into the Clubs hub or join active sessions, while others encounter a “failed to connect” message immediately after launch.

Technical issues have been a recurring theme for EA FC 26 since its release. Players have previously dealt with matchmaking errors, missing progression, and random disconnects during matches. Clubs — the series’ most community-driven mode — has often borne the brunt of these problems. Despite several patches aimed at improving stability, many users say the experience remains inconsistent, particularly on PC and during cross-play sessions.

If you’re a longtime Clubs player (such as myself), this is nothing new. For years, there have been issues within the mode — Friendly Matches not working, kit clashing brought on by a janky UI, etc. However, EA FC 26 represents the first year in the series’ history where EA has monetized Clubs mode. And if they’re going to take money from a community that is starved for alternative options, then a functioning mode should kind of be the bare minimum. Alas, one month post-launch, and Clubs mode has dealt with issues that feel way more constant than in years’ past.

Hopefully, a fix will be found soon. But for now, the Clubs community will have to play the waiting game yet again.
