Each year, scousers anxiously await ticket and line up announcements for Glastonbury , but this year many were disappointed with the big reveal .

For those who didn’t quite manage to snag a ticket to the big event, it might be useful to know what there’s a mini Glastonbury you can head to - and it's right on our doorstep.

Glastonferry in the Park launches this year after the team behind it successfully ran CloneFest in 2018.

Directors Gavin Scott and Andy Mullholland have taken the traditional Glastonferry,  which Andy launched at his pub The Ferry Tavern more than 10 years ago and transformed it in to an outdoor festival.

Co-director of Glastonferry and lead singer of The Clone Roses, Gavin Scott said: “Andy and I worked together last year on CloneFest, marking The Clone Roses’ 20th anniversary.

“This year, we’ve decided to take what Andy does with Glastonferry at the pub to Bank Park and we’ve sold loads of tickets already, it’ll be a really fun day.

“We’ve picked up the idea of what we did with CloneFest and created a festival that’s just all about the music, it's a simple, pared back event that just focuses on what’s happening on stage”.

On the day, there will be a range of food traders in the main area, with gates opening from 1pm.
