In this episode of why we should eat the rich, Polish millionaire CEO Piotr Szczerek is being ripped to shreds online after he was filmed snatching US Open player Kamil Majchrzak‘s hat away from a child.
Following Majchrzak’s victory against Russia’s Karen Khachanov, the Polish tennis pro went over to a couple of fans to sign some autographs.
During this lovely interaction with spectators, Majchrzak was seen taking off his cap with the intention of gifting it to a young boy who was holding a giant tennis ball.
After successfully handing over the hat, the victor looked away to sign another autograph. However, as the child held on to the cap, a GROWN ASS MAN snatched it and chucked it into a bag.

Naturally, the toe-curling footage of the incident has gone gangbusters on social media, with some folks identifying the cap snatcher as Drog-Bruk CEO Piotr Szczerek.
Per 7News, the CEO has since deactivated all of his social media accounts after netizens left a barrage of scathing comments on his posts, labelling him a “common thief, “sack of garbage”, a “primitive scammer”, and a “shameful jerk” for his cap snatching ways.

US Open Cap Snatching CEO responds to criticism
After Drog-Bruk was reviewed-bombed on the Polish job review site GoWork.PL, the CEO issued a statement regarding the incident.
“The recent incident at the tennis match has caused a disproportionate online uproar. It’s all about the famous hat, of course. Yes, I took it. Yes, I did it quickly. But as I’ve always said, life is first-come, first-served,” he wrote.
“I understand that some people might not like it, but please, let’s not make a global scandal out of the hat. It’s just a hat. If you were faster, you would have it.
“Regarding online hate, I remind you that insulting a public figure is subject to legal liability. All offensive comments, slander, and insinuations will be analysed for the possibility of taking the matter to court.”

While the CEO’s statement wasn’t sweet and was rife with entitlement, Majchrzak’s reaction to the incident is definitely praiseworthy.
Following the virality of the footage, the tennis pro shared an IG Story, asking fans to help him identify the child who missed out on the memento.
Thankfully, the internet did what the internet did best and connected the pair!!!
“Today after warm-up, I had a nice meeting,” the tennis pro wrote on his IG Stories.
“Do you recognise?”

In a second IG Story, Majchrzak introduced the world to Brock, wishing him a “great day”. How sweet!

What a bloody doozy. Thank god the child came out on top with not only a sweet memory, but a meet and greet with one of his tennis faves.
