A Midsummer Night’s Dream at Bridge Theatre: Who does Gwendoline Christie play? How to get tickets for the Shakespeare play

Magic and mischief are on the menu as Gwendoline Christie leads the cast in the Bridge Theatre’s production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

Shakespeare’s comedy takes place in a fantasy world of fairies and enchantments, where King Oberon and Queen Titania rule. The fairies use magic to play with the lives of mortals, in particular four lovers who are tricked into falling in love with one another.

Artistic director Nicholas Hytner's promenade production, which takes audience members on foot into the midst of the action, is running until August 31.

The Standard’s Henry Hitchings gave the play five stars, saying that the “funny, sexy and romantic” show “has the atmosphere of a party”.
