A message from our CEO: Help us ‘Tackle Cancer’

At the Sun-Times, we’re committed not only to bringing you the news you need, whenever and wherever you need it, but we’re also committed to forging partnerships that enable us to make a difference in Chicago, its suburbs and the region.

On Friday, we’re launching our latest of these programs, called “Tackle Cancer,” a joint effort with Bears defensive coordinator and cancer survivor Chuck Pagano and CDW to support the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Tackle Cancer encourages Chicagoans to support young cancer fighters by posting videos on Facebook and Instagram using a custom-built eye-black filter. For every video posted online, the Sun-Times and CDW each will donate $1 to Make-A-Wish.

The Sun-Times and CDW will also match all donations made to Make-A-Wish at illinois.wish.org/tacklecancer, with combined contributions totaling $10,000.

We’re putting the power of our journalism behind Tackle Cancer, too, with our writers and visual journalists chronicling the stories of four childhood cancer patients who have seen dreams come true through Make-A-Wish.

We’re also creating opportunities for Chicagoans to actively engage with the cause by posting on social media and raising financial support for Make-A-Wish.
